Federal lawmakers recognize the critical period of development that occurs between birth and three years of age. A federal mandate was created to ensure that all children from birth to age three who have an identified delay or disability receive the services they need in a timely manner.
The Early Intervention (EI) System in Illinois was created to fulfill this mandate. Child and Family Connections is a subsidiary of the Department of Human Services (DHS) hired to carry out the regulations of the Early Intervention System of the State of Illinois.
Anyone who suspects a delay is eligible for a free evaluation through Early Intervention. Children identified with a qualifying delay or disability are eligible for services.
Staff members at Carle Auditory Oral School are credentialed to provide services through Early Intervention.

Carle Auditory Oral School accepts both private and public insurance carriers for those individuals not utilizing Early Intervention funding. |
