Home-Based Services

The Birth to Three Program at Carle Auditory Oral School offers off-site therapy sessions which take place in the child’s natural environment where he/she is most comfortable. Therapy location may be different for each child; taking place in the child’s home, daycare setting, the home of an extended family member, or community-based activity. Off-site therapy sessions promote successful communication across a variety of settings.

Home-based treatment supports the carryover of strategies and activities into the child’s daily life.

Spoken language learning that occurs in the child’s natural environment is more meaningful and functional.

Home-based training sessions promote family involvement including a variety of the child’s significant communication partners.
